Discussions

In some courses, you will be required to participate in a discussion. If a lesson instructs you to participate in a discussion, click on the Discussions link and then click on the title of the specific discussion.

A discussion is a collection of posted comments. You can post your response and also read the responses of your classsmates. You can also respond to a classmate's post by creating a "subthread."


To Participate in a Discussion

1. First, read the main post by clicking on the topic of the discussion.
2. After reading the main post, click on Reply to post your response.
3. You can now enter your response to the main topic.
4. After your have submitted your response, you will see it listed under the main topic, indented with an Re: in front of it.
5. If you would like to respond to any of the Re: posts, you can do so by clicking on the link and then using the Subthread button. Your post will be indented and placed under the Re: post.

If you select Reply while reading an Re: post, your response will be to the main topic, not the indented Re: post.
