Answers:

Who is eligible to be a student?
We serve students from a wide variety of educational backgrounds. We have traditionally served large numbers of students who were formerly home schooled, as well as many students in need of an alternative to the traditional brick-and-mortar system. You can be a student at EIA as long as you are:

How can a student get started at EIA?
Once you have determined your eligibility to attend EIA, go to our registration page, and follow the instructions from there. Once your registration has been processed and all the necessary paperwork is in, you will take our short Overview Tutorial couse before being placed in your courses. If you have any questions, please let us know! Click here to find out how to contact us.

What is the Educator Overview?
The Educator Overview is a short tutorial that shows students how to work in Educator. All new students should go through this tutorial before starting their classes in educator. Click on this link - Educator Overview - to begin.

How many courses can a student take?
Students are allowed to register for up to six courses per semester. If a student successfully completes one or more of the courses during a semester, a course may be added to the student's schedule for the remainder of the semester, with teacher approval.

How are the courses taught?
Our courses are delivered entirely through the Internet, with student-teacher interactions by e-mail, by phone, and in person. Students study crafted lessons which may combine text, images, sound, and even video. Students work with their instructors to overcome difficulties, and discuss topics with other students in course discussion boards. If you need additional information, please contact us!

Can a student drop a course?
Students not paying tuition may drop a course within the first 20 days of enrollment with parent/guardian approval. Any withdrawals after that time will receive a final grade in the course. Students paying tuition may only drop a course up to three days before course enrollment for a partial refund.

Can EIA withdraw a student from a course?
If for any reason a student does not submit the necessary forms and agreements within a reasonable time, the student may be withdrawn from EIA. Students may also be dropped from courses for non-attendance (not submitting assignments each day). See the school and individual course policies for more information.

Are there any technical requirements?
Students who do not have an adequate computer and Internet connection at home will need to be willing to come into our computer lab on a regular basis or find other consistent access to the courses. The minimum recommended system requirements are:

How could a school or business partner with EIA?
We are open to various types of partnerships. We are interested in partnerships which will improve the educational opportunities of students and/or improve education in a broader sense. Schools interested in sharing students with EIA can find more information here. If you are a school or business interested in working with our school in another capacity, please contact us with your idea.
